Abstract
The competition between direct alpha-transfer and deuteron evaporation has been delineated in O-16(Li-6,d) for E(cm) from 7 to 14 MeV. Betwe en 7 and 11.5 MeV the reaction proceeds via evaporation. At 12 MeV a d irect component appears and after 2 MeV the two mechanisms contribute equally. With the present and all previous relevant results, a complet e map of the evolution of the two reaction mechanisms has been constru cted.
