The ratios of the partial widths for the decay of a glueball into two
pseudoscalar mesons are calculated under the assumption that the produ
ction of light quark pairs (u (u) over bar, d (d) over bar, s (s) over
bar) in soft gluon-induced reactions goes on within universal symmetr
y breaking. The parameter of the violation of flavour symmetry is fixe
d by the central hadron production data in high energy hadron collisio
ns and/or by the ratios of radiative decay amplitudes J/psi --> gamma
eta/gamma eta' and J/psi --> gamma phi phi/gamma omega omega. The rati
os of the coupling constants glueball --> pi pi, K (K) over bar, eta e
ta, eta eta' which are calculated with this parameter coincide reasona
bly with those of fo(1500), supporting the idea about the glueball nat
ure of f0(1500).
