Abstract
Reaction of TlPh(2)X with MS(2)PPh(2) afforded [TlPh(2)(S(2)PPh(2))] ( X = OH; M = NH4) and [Et(4)N][TlPh(2)(S(2)PPh(2))(2)] (X = Br; M = Et( 4)N). Tetraethylammonium iphenylbis(diphenyldithiophosphinato)thallate (III) crystallized from chloroform as monoclinic crystals, space group P2(1); the asymmetric unit has two slightly different molecules. Each thallium atom is coordinated to two phenyl carbon atoms and to two st rongly anisobidentate dithiophosphinate ligands. Both compounds were s tudied by IR and NMR techniques.
