Abstract
The new ligand 1,2-bis[3-(pyrazol-1-yl)-2-oxapropyl]benzene (L), react ed with cobalt(II) chloride, copper(II) chloride and zinc(II) chloride to form [CoLCl(2)], [CuLCl(2)] and [ZnLCl(2)], respectively. The stru ctures of these metal complexes have been determined by X-ray crystall ography. The Co and Zn structures are isomorphous with distorted tetra hedral metal geometries. The coordination sphere of the copper(II) ion in its complex is intermediate between distorted tetrahedral and dist orted square-pyramidal geometry, if a weak Cu ... O interaction is tak en into account.
