DEPOSITION OF ZEOLITE-A ON VEGETAL FIBERS

In situ deposition of zeolite A on various vegetal fibers is studied. It is found that the chemical composition and the structure of the fib ers determine the degree of coverage. The effect of the content of cel lulose, lignin, and waxy materials in the fibers on the process of the formation of zeolite coating is studied. The role of chemical and mec hanical pretreatment of the support on the process of zeolite crystall ization is discussed. It is shown that the amount of the deposited zeo lite may be controlled by suitable fiber pretreatment.
