J. Felix et al., STUDY OF LAMBDA(0) POLARIZATION IN PP-]P-LAMBDA-K-0(-)PI(+)PI(-) AT 27.5 GEV()PI(+)PI(), Physical review letters, 76(1), 1996, pp. 22-25
We measured the polarization of 51 195 Lambda(0,)s produced in the spe
cific reaction pp --> p Lambda(0)K(+)pi(+)pi(-)pi(+)pi(-) with 27.5 Ge
V/c protons incident on a liquid hydrogen target. Because the reaction
was measured completely, the polarization was studied versus the foll
owing: X(F) (-1 to + 1), Lambda(0) transverse momentum (0 to 1.32 GeV/
c), correlations with the momentum vectors of the other particles in t
he reaction, and the invariant mass of combinations of particles in th
e final state. The dependence of the polarization on these variables d
oes not always agree with theoretical expectations.
