Abstract
Well-defined polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) films were obtain ed using electron beam (EB) radiation by a polymerization induced phas e separation process. In contrast to independently prepared UV-cured s amples, the EB processing technique results in completely crosslinked polymer matrices without the use of any initiating compound. The PDLC films were prepared with a good reproducibility and exhibit low thresh old voltages and a high transmission in the field-on state.
