Abstract
A kinetic study of the transformation of cerium(III) hydroxycarbonate into ceria has been achieved by means of isothermal thermogravimetry e xperiments under a controlled atmosphere. A geometrical modelling base d on Mampel's model allowed determination of the values and the variat ions of the specific rates of nucleation and growth of ceria for vario us partial pressures of oxygen and carbon dioxide.
