Abstract
Basic principles of the development of methods of testing materials fo r wear and fatigue are outlined. Specimens and friction couple models are proposed for virtually all types of wear and fatigue tests. Fatigu e curves for representing test results are discussed. Technical requir ements to testing machines to be used in standard wear and fatigue tes ts are specified.
