Abstract
Plasmapolymer thin films with embedded silver nanoparticles were depos ited by simultaneous plasma polymerization and metal evaporation. The particle size and shape were determined by transmission electron micro scopy (TEM) and analysed by optical image processing. The optical prop erties in the UV/VIS/NIR spectral region were determined by the plasma resonance absorption of the silver particles. Transmittance spectra w ere calculated with the Bergman effective medium theory and compared w ith experimental spectra.
