Abstract
Two-wavelength nonlinear loop mirrors are proposed as all-optically-co ntrolled amplitude/phase modulators for in-line synchronous regenerati on in transoceanic soliton systems. Simulations show improvement of tr ansmission compared to systems regenerated with pure intensity modulat ors. This is explained by efficient reduction of soliton interactions.
