Sg. Abdelhamide et al., SYNTHESIS OF SOME NEW PIPERAZINE-N,N'-BIS-SUBSTITUTED DERIVATIVES AS POTENTIAL BIOLOGICALLY-ACTIVE AGENTS, Chemicke zvesti, 49(3), 1995, pp. 142-148
In a search for new bactericidal and fungicidal agents some new pipera
zine-N,N'-bis-substituted derivatives have been prepared and character
ized by their elemental analysis, IR, H-1 NMR, and mass spectral data.
The antibacterial and antifungal activities of all prepared compounds
have been determined using Gentamycin as standard antibiotic. Some co
mpounds showed a high activity equivalent to that of the standard towa
rds Escherichia coli, Serratia marcescens, Bacillus cereus, Staphyloco
ccus aureus, and Candida albicans.
