Abstract
A 12-year-old girl developed acanthosis nigricans due to increased lev els of serum insulin. Hyperinsulinemia has been recognized as the unde rlying cause in most cases of acanthosis nigricans. In this paper we o utline a typical clinical case with special regard to the proposed pat hogenesis.
