Abstract
A 9-year-old girl suffered from protracted paroxysms of severe hyperte nsion before she developed classical signs of Guillain-Barre syndrome. Significant brucella antibody titres were found in the serum and CSF. Complete recovery was observed after appropriate therapy. Conclusion Brucella organisms should be sought as a possible aetiological agent o f Guillain-Barre syndrome in patients living in or coming from endemic countries.
