Abstract
The discovery of a previously uncatalogued extended object at alpha195 0 = 17h 21m 50s and delta1950 = -24-degrees 15' 44'' is reported. The size (d almost-equal-to 60'') and appearance on the ESO R Atlas field 519 are similar to those of several reddened globular clusters found i n the last two decades. This globular cluster candidate is projected o n the bulge, at 1 = 1.411-degrees and b = 6.393-degrees. Within the re gion 20-degrees vs 20-degrees centered on the Galactic nucleus directi on, the object is located in the quadrant least populated by known glo bular clusters.
