Inheritance studies using two reciprocal and two backcross combination
s made from a wax-less (WI) line of oilseed rape, B. napus 'Nilla glos
sy' and two normal wax (Nwl) genotypes showed that the W1 character of
Nilla glossy is recessive to the Nwl. Chi-square tests revealed that
the segregation ratios of B-1 and F-2 plants fit 3:1 and 15:1 (Nwl:W1)
ratios, respectively, and these are consistent with the presence of t
wo gene pairs.
