A case of pathologic femoral fracture in a patient with Gaucher's dise
ase is presented. The fracture occurred at the site of bioptic trepana
tion performed 1 month previously. After fracture healing and removal
of a Kuntscher nail, pathologic fracture recurred at the same site. Th
e paper emphasizes the value of ''biological'' internal fixation for t
he preservation of compromised blood flow in the bones of patients wit
h Gaucher's disease.
