H. Miyamura et al., CONGENITAL CORONARY-ARTERY FISTULA - SURGICAL RESULTS AND LATE CHANGES IN CORONARY-ARTERY ANEURYSM, Japanese Circulation Journal, 59(12), 1995, pp. 786-789
Four pediatric cases of congenital coronary artery fistula were surgic
ally treated and followed for 8 years. In the 3 cases of right coronar
y artery to right ventricle fistula, regression of coronary artery dil
atation was observed postoperatively. In the 1 case of circumflex arte
ry to right atrium fistula, aneurysmal dilatation of the abnormal vess
el persisted for 8 years. A reduction in vessel size is expected if th
e fistula-related coronary artery has a normal course and normal branc
hings. When the aneurysmal vessel takes an abnormal course without bra
nches, it should be removed surgically along with fistula closure.
