Jk. Macko et A. Mackova, REDESCRIPTION OF PARALECTOTYPES OF LYPEROSOMUM-LONGICAUDA (RUDOLPHI, 1809) AND OTHER DATA ON DICROCOELIIDS FROM SLOVAKIA, Helminthologia, 32(4), 1995, pp. 239-246
Additional measurements of syntypes - paralectotypes of Lyperosomum lo
ngicauda (Rudolphi, 1809) have shown that the genital pore in those sp
ecimens lies 40-68 mu m posterior to the pharynx. Ovary is smaller tha
n testes or of the same size. Intestinal branches are indistinct, but
not extending into the posterior part of the body as assumed be B r a
u n (1902). The longest syntype No. 1461, illustrated by B r a u n (l.
c.), should be considered the lectotype. Described and taxonomically
treated are also other forms of L. longicauda as well as the rare Lype
rosomum sp. 1 from Pluvialis apricarius, Lyperosomum sp. 2 from Alauda
arvensis and Conspicuum sp. from Falco subbuteo. The discussion deals
with problems in the systematics of dicrocoeliids which often hamper
the unambiguous identification of species.
