From a whole plant of a fern, Diplazium subsinuatum (WALL. ex HOOK. et
GREV.) TAGAWA, two new hopane-triterpene glycosides termed diplaziosi
des I and II were isolated together with a known hopane-triterpene gly
coside named glycoside C (1). The structures of diplaziosides I and II
were established as yl(1-->6)]-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-hopan-28,22-olid
e (2) and ta-D-glucopyranosyl-28,22-carbonyloxy-hopan-30-oic acid (3),
respectively, on the basis of spectral evidence. In addition, the ful
l H-1- and C-13-NMR assignments for known 1 are also reported for the
first time.
