Abstract
Morphology, chromosome number, spore ornamentation and germination pat terns of Aitchisoniella himalayensis Kash., an endemic liverwort of th e western Himalaya, are investigated. The genus Aitchisoniella appears to belong to the Exormothecaceae and not to the Targioniaceae or the Corsiniaceae, as stated previously.
