Abstract
Through the use of the P-1 approximation to the linear transport equat ion and assuming that electrons only undergo elastic interactions with atoms, the fraction of transmitted beta-rays through foils is calcula ted arriving at the well-known exponential dependence with foil thickn ess. The resulting attenuation coefficients are in good agreement with experimental values.
