Abstract
Techniques for obtaining callus of Laminaria digitata have been descri bed. Effect of plant hormone, auxins (NAA, naphtalene acetic acid, IAA , indole acetic acid, 2,4-D, dichlorophenoxy acetic acid) and cytokini n (kinetine) has been tested without success. Brownish or colorless ca llus were formed from the stipofrondal meristematic tissue but more ge nerally on the five first centimeters. Callus induction was inhibited by blue light which enhances growth but wasn't by red, green or white light.
