ADVANCES IN THERMAL TRANSFER RIBBON TECHNOLOGY

In thios paper the autho discusses in detail the historical background to the technology of transfer printing, a non-impact process which do es not require the use of chemically treated paper, but only a disposa ble ribbon. The theory of this method of printing is explained as well as, in a similar fashion, the starting point for the production of th e ribbon with regard to the ink and the substrate. The author conludes by giving an answer to his rhetorical question: Why thermal transfer printing.
