Abstract
In this paper, a general formulation of the aperture-fed waveguide pro blem is presented. This formulation is done using the characteristic m ode theory for aperture problems. This formulation lends to a matrix e quation whose solution determines the characteristic magnetic currents of the problem. Numerical results for a two-dimensional example are p resented to illustrate the generality and the simplicity of the formul ation.
