The taxonomic status of five species of humivorous nasutes from the Pa
nama Canal area is examined. The following species are recognized : Su
bulitermes zeteki (Snyder, 1924), Subulitermes denisae, new species, A
tlantilermes kirbyi (Snyder, 1926), Ereymatermes panamensis, new speci
es, and Coatitermes clevelandi (Snyder, 1926). Their descriptions are
herein given or complemented with emphasis on worker anatomy, diagnost
ic characters are provided and generic assignments are discussed.
