Thirty patients greater than or equal to 80 years of age (mean 86) und
erwent diagnostic and/or therapeutic endoscopic retrograde cholangiopa
ncreatography (ERCP). The low mortality (6.6%) and complication (6.6%)
rates lead us to believe that ERCP in octogenarians provides an accep
table route for diagnosis and treatment of biliary and pancreatic diso
rders.
