Abstract
Polycrystalline samples of mixed oxides of the type Ln(2)Ba(2)CuPtO(8) (with Ln = Ho-Lu) have been obtained by solid state reactions of plat inum metal powder with appropriate Ln(2)O(3)/CuO/BaCO3 mixtures. They are isostructural with the previously known Y2Ba2CuPtO8 phase. Crystal lographic data for the new oxides were obtained from X-ray powder meas urements. Their IR spectra were also recorded and briefly discussed. ( C) 1995 Academic Press, Inc.
