Abstract
A 41-year old woman with a displaced fracture of the distal radius was operated on and a hydroxyapatite spacer inserted into the fracture. P ostoperative immobilisation was instituted for only two weeks, followe d by active motion. Anatomy and function were fully restored. This tre atment is similar to that with bone cement, but has practical and biol ogical advantages.
