Abstract
Following a recent theory of diffusion in a lattice gas, we present a generalization of the local mean-field approach to study diffusion in a dense system in which particles are mobile. Our model reduces in wel l-defined limits to the lattice gas and fluid models which we have pro posed recently for an adsorbate diffusion on the surface of a metal.
