The morphometry was studied in a feral population of Poecilia reticula
ta Peters, 1859 from the River Jaimanitas in Habana, Cuba on 8 meristi
c and 34 plastic characters. The sexual dimorphism was also statistica
lly tested. The feral Cuban population does not differ from wild popul
ations inhabiting the original distribution area of this species in 6
meristic and 6 plastic characters, being the most frequented ones used
in the literature.
