Abstract
The mechanical properties of St3kp and St3sp carbon steels strengthene d in the course of different modes of rolling were studied. The rollin g variables included finishing temperature and the length of interval between the end of rolling and the start of intensive cooling. The eff ect of silicon content on the properties of steel was evaluated. The f indings were analyzed in the context of the dislocation mechanism of t hermal strengthening.
