Abstract
Monte Carlo calculations are used to examine orientational order in fl uids of disk-shape particles with embedded dipoles. The dipoles are di stributed over a circular ''patch'' of finite size. It is shown that s uch systems may undergo spontaneous polarization to form a stable ferr oelectric discotic nematic phase.
