STRUCTURE-ANALYSIS OF INFORMATION MEDIA USING THE CATEGORIES - REEXAMINATION OF THE CRITERION BASED ON LINGUISTIC CONSIDERATION

This paper conducts functional structure analysis of research articles , using the Categories, the author previously proposed as a framework for analysing informational content of research articles. Fisrt, reexa mination on the Criterion of the Categories is conducted through consi deration on linguistic feature of the sentences. A Number of lexical-c lue-combination-patterns are extracted from the corpus of research art icles selected from three specialties. These patterns are classified b y combination of sentence-end-representations, verbs, and other lexica l clues. After that, these patterns are listed and added to previous C riterion. Junction between sentences are also considered.
