Three cases of water-associated dermatitis in Oman, Southern Arabia an
d the medical treatment given are reported. The symptoms suggested cor
carial dermatitis caused by animal schistosome parasites transmitted v
ia vector snails. These cases resemble invasive schistosomiasis caused
by human schistosomes, thus warranting the monitoring of patients for
the systemic signs to rule out the diagnosis of human schisiosomiasis
. The role of snail species recorded in the habitats as possible vecto
rs and prevention measures are briefly discussed.
