The ectomycorrhizae of Tomentella albomarginata are comprehensively de
scribed and compared to ectomycorrhizae of other Tomentella species an
d to ectomycorrhizae of some members of Thelephoraceae ss. Stalpers an
d Bankeraceae ss. Stalpers. The ectomycorrhizae of T. albomarginata ar
e characterized by a hyphal net lying on a pseudoparenchymatous mantle
surface, by tubular outgrowths of irregularly angular mantle cells, a
nd by clamp-bearing emanating hyphae.
