Nm. Gavrilov et al., ON THE INFLUENCE OF THE MEAN WIND ON THE ANISOTROPY OF INTERNAL GRAVITY-WAVES IN THE MIDDLE ATMOSPHERE, Annales geophysicae, 13(12), 1995, pp. 1355-1356
A case study is presented of the temporal rotation of an oval characte
rizing the distribution of the intensity of internal gravity waves (IG
W) at the altitudes 70 - 80 km observed with the Middle and Upper (MU)
Atmosphere Radar at Shigaraki, Japan. The oval rotation may be explai
ned by interaction between IGWs and the mean wind.
