Abstract
,4-Bis(trifluoromethyl)-1-oxa-3-azabuta-1,2-dienes and acrylonitrile r eact in the presence of equimolar amounts of 4-dimethylaminopyridine ( DMAP) to give 2:1-adducts. A sequential [4 + 2] cycloaddition is propo sed.
