Abstract
Charge state resolved ion yield spectra in the Is excitation region of Ar have been measured in coincidence with threshold electrons. Decay channels of the Ar 1s(-1)4p resonance were studied by combining these ion yields and those obtained by a conventional time-of-flight mass sp ectrometer. The branching ratio of the resonant Auger shake-off to two -step decays for the 1s(-1)4p resonance was estimated to be 71:29%. Th e resonant Auger shake-off decay plays an important role in the 1s(-1) 4p resonance decay.
