Abstract
Geochemical budget of carbon in ocean that includes organic and inorga nic (carbonate) carbon was considered. Assuming that the present ocean is in a stacoinary state the carbonate carbon exchange value between ocean and atmosphere has been determined. The value obtained indicate ocean does net absorb bur emanate carbonate carbon into atmosphere as much as 594 mln. t./year. Arguments supported this conclusion has been given.
