Abstract
The authors studied vertical distribution of weevils in the relationsh ip to vegetation zones in the High Tatra Mts. They determined 116 weev il species in four vegetation zones - meadows, pine groves, dwarf pine s and alpine meadows. The diversity of socions declines from meadows 6 00-900 m a.s.l. to alpine meadows 1800-2000 m a.s.l. Percentage fracti on of geobionts rises from meadows to alpine meadows, herbicolous spec ies are represented in individual zones equably.
