Ml. Cano et al., CHARACTERIZATION OF PERSISTENT ALPHA,OMEGA-DIPHENYL SUBSTITUTED ALLYLCATIONS WITHIN MONODIRECTIONAL ACID ZEOLITES, Journal of the Chemical Society, Chemical Communications, (24), 1995, pp. 2477-2478
Two alpha,omega-diphenyl substituted allylic cations are generated wit
hin ZSM-5 and mordenite as persistent species by adsorption of 1-aceto
xy-1,3-diphenylpropane and 1,5-diacetoxy-1,5-diphenylpentane onto the
H+-form of these zeolites; the diffuse reflectance spectra of these hi
ghly coloured samples (orange or pink) matches the very characteristic
absorption spectra of these allyl cations in homogeneous solution; th
e non-acidic Na+-form of these zeolites does not have the same effect.
