Abstract
Closed-shell ion pairs, formed by tetrabutylammonium chloride, aggrega te in (CHCl3)-H-2 solution; stimulated-echo NMR experiments incorporat ing pulsed field gradients yielded diffusion coefficients for the aggr egates and comparison of aggregate diffusion with that of an internal standard of similar size and shape (Bu(4)Si) was used to determine the extent of aggregation; temperature and concentration effects indicate that aggregation is primarily entropy-driven.
