Abstract
Dosimeter data taken on the APEX satellite in a 362 by 2544 km, 70 deg rees inclination orbit are used to produce a high resolution dose mode l of the inner edge of the inner proton radiation belt. The APEX data are compared to dosimeter data taken on the DMSP and CRRES spacecraft. The comparisons show that the CRRESRAD model is reliable down to 850 km and can be extended down to 350 km with the APEX data. Solar cycle variations on the inner edge of the inner belt were found to be much l ess than predicted by theory.
