Abstract
Natural frequencies and modes of two- and three-dimensional cavities b ounded by elastic structures are obtained. It is shown that the free v ibration problems of the structural-acoustic coupled system of two- an d three-dimensions can be easily formulated and solved by utilizing th e proposed method. General characteristics of the dynamic coupling bet ween the structure and the acoustic cavity are discussed based on the system natural frequencies and mode shapes. (C) 1995 Academic Press Li mited
