Abstract
This article presents a practitioner's perspective on the evolution of four major school consultation models. After reviewing the trends in mental health consultation, behavioral consultation, organizational de velopment, and instructional consultation, the applicability of the re vised models to current school situations is discussed. A practitioner 's view regarding the increasing need for consultation and the forces impacting this role is presented. Finally, future trends are addressed .
