Normal control values for latency and amplitude of T-wave responses we
re established using 24 healthy volunteers as controls subjects. Data
for masseter, deltoideus, biceps, triceps, adductor, patellar, semiten
dinosus, and achilles tendon reflexes were evaluated. T-wave latencies
showed small intra- and interindividual differences making them a rep
roducible parameter for reflex analysis. T-wave amplitudes did not fol
low a Gaussian standard distribution and showed a large interindividua
l variation. The amplitudes can be used for intraindividual right-left
-evaluation. The applicability of the method is demonstrated in six ca
se reports of patients suffering from trigeminal neurinoma, scleroderm
a, tetanus, C6 - radicular compression, femoral nerve lesion, and Guil
lain-Barre syndrome.
