Jc. Austin et Ml. Swanson, ON THE STABILITY OF THE TETRAHEDRAL IN-4V(AG) COMPLEX IN SILVER-HALIDES, Journal of physics. Condensed matter, 7(50), 1995, pp. 9747-9754
A point defect complex in silver chloride consisting of a trivalent ir
on ion in a cube-centre interstitial site, tetrahedrally coordinated w
ith four silver vacancies and four halogen ions, was previously detect
ed by EPR. In this article we present evidence, obtained by perturbed
angular correlation spectroscopy, for a similar defect complex for In3
+ in AgCl and AgBr. We present data establishing the existence of this
negatively-charged complex, describe its behaviour, and consider why
a negatively-charged complex forms.
