Hf. Folkerts et al., 2 TYPES OF LUMINESCENCE FROM PB2-EARTH FLUOROHALIDES WITH THE PBFCL STRUCTURE( IN ALKALINE), Journal of physics. Condensed matter, 7(50), 1995, pp. 10049-10057
The luminescence of the Pb2+ ion in the alkaline-earth fluorohalides w
ith the PbFCl structure is reported. These systems show an ultraviolet
emission at low temperatures, and a blue to yellowish emission at hig
her temperatures. This is ascribed to the (co-) existence of two diffe
rent excited states, one typical for Pb2+, and the other probably of c
harge-transfer nature.
