Abstract
We have developed a simple in vitro translation method to analyze comp ounds that inhibit the rhinovirus 3C protease in peptide substrate ass ays but demonstrate no antiviral activity. This complementary assay, w hich provides both qualitative and quantitative results, detects the i nhibition of the 3CD protease in the native polyprotein form.
